Why Unscented?

The scent palette of the shaving world is a jungle ecosystem teaming with all kinds of wildlife. In this ecosystem are some incredibly amazing artisans creating (and duplicating) scents for every mood, season, and occasion. The numerous scent choices dangling from the jungle vines are often plucked dozens at a time by wetshaving explorers.
But, sometimes. . . to some people. . . less is more.
Though not always everyone’s first pick from the scent vine, here are reasons why some people ABSOLUTELY should have an unscented shaving soap:
1) If you have sensitive skin.
Sensitive skin is very common and countless people have this condition.
Common causes of irritation when shaving are fragrances, dyes, and other chemicals that come into contact with your skin. If you experience excessive redness, itchiness, breakouts, burning, stinging, or rashes after you shave... you need an UNSCENTED shaving soap in your arsenal.
2) If you are sensitive to fragrances.
Many people have fragrance sensitivities. Fragrance sensitivity is when a scent produces an allergic reaction in certain individuals. Symptoms include: migraines, nausea, breathing problems, itchy/watery eyes, congestion, runny nose, and sneezing. If this is you or if you’re around someone regularly that has  fragrance sensitivities. . . yep . . . you need an UNSCENTED shaving soap.
3) It won’t interfere with the scent of your favorite colognes.
If you’re really into colognes, sometimes the scent combo of your shaving soap AND your cologne might not always gel well together. An UNSCENTED shaving soap stays out of the way of your favorite cologne scent wise.
The Shave Mercantile offers an UNSCENTED Shaving Soap for those who might be dealing with any of the above reasons.  If any of these reasons ring true with you, you should check out our UNSCENTED Shaving Soap. No fragrance oils or essential oils added. Vegan formula. Easy on the skin.
