Pretty Polly - Limited Edition - Halloween Seasonal Shaving Soap

$ 16.99

We never intended on making a Halloween Seasonal Shaving Soap, let alone one based on an Appalachian murder ballad. But Polly whispered otherwise.

Introducing: TSM's Pretty Polly – LIMITED EDITION – Shaving Soap.

There are many versions of her song. In some, she’s the victim. In others… she’s the one who swings the blade. Polly's melody drifts down from the Appalachian hills. A murder ballad carried on cold wind and memory through the centuries. Some have differing opinions on how this story ends, but the earth and grave know the truth.

The scent is steeped in an uneasy beauty: freshly dug grave soil, moss, and cedarwood tangled with dark plum, blood orange, jasmine, and amber. It’s rich, unsettling, and strangely inviting, like a hymn sung in an empty church.

An Appalachian Gothic fragrance, Polly is Earthy. Haunting. Full of quiet mystery, folklore, and fog. For those who appreciate craftsmanship, story, a bit of the macabre, and the kind of scent that leaves an echo, this one’s worth the lather.

She's whispering your name . . .

What Victorian gothic ghost would smell like

I wasn’t quite sure what kind of scent this would be. After using it this evening I can honestly say it is what I imagine a Victorian gothic ghost would smell like. Y’all nailed this one.

I didn’t choose Polly, she found me.

From the moment I opened the lid, I knew this one was different. The scent rises like a story being told, deep, earthy notes of fresh-turned soil and moss anchored by aged cedarwood, wrapped in the sweetness of dark plum and blood orange, and softened by amber and jasmine. It’s equal parts haunting and inviting, like a hymn echoing through the Appalachian hills.

What makes Polly special isn’t just the fragrance, it’s the presence. She fills the room, lingers on the skin, and makes each shave feel like something more than routine. The lather is rich, slick, and steady, leaving a finish as smooth as her song.

There’s a quiet beauty in this one, gothic, grounded, unforgettable. Polly isn’t a scent you wear. She’s a story you live through every shave.

Polly came for me… and I’m glad she did.

Whispers in the Fog

Pretty Polly by The Shave Mercantile opens with an uncanny realism — a haunting blend of dirt, damp cement, and cool earth that instantly sets a somber mood. It’s mysterious, almost unsettling in its accuracy, yet incredibly captivating.

As the lather blooms and the air chills, the soap’s darker notes begin to warm — amber glows softly through the mist, joined by the gentle lift of jasmine and a grounding cedarwood finish. Just when you think the forest has gone completely cold, it breathes back warmth.

Performance-wise, the soap is stellar: rich, stable lather, excellent cushion, and glide that rivals top-tier artisans. It’s the kind of scent that makes you slow down and savor the ritual.
